Our Mission
The Mission of CASA of Cameron & Willacy Counties, Inc. is to find the safest, most nurturing permanent homes for abused and neglected children. Our goal is to recruit, train and support community volunteers to become informed advocates who serve as independent voices for abused and neglected children in the court system.

Why CASA?
-
CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, are trained volunteers from the community who are appointed by a judge to advocate for a child who has been a victim of abuse or neglect.
-
Children represented by a CASA advocate generally had more services ordered and provided.
-
Children with CASA support tended to have fewer foster home placements.
-
Children with CASA support are less likely to reenter the foster-care system once their cases are dismissed.
-
Children who had been assigned to CASA volunteers were approximately 50 percent less likely to reenter the dependency system.
